Captive

The two young sleuths are on the stage when the Badger Gang stops it. Finding no money, the gang leader is so angry that he takes their father captive.
With guidance from their grandmother, Audrey and Brad set out to track the Badger Gang and rescue their father. Camping in the wilderness while searching for your father is dangerous. But searching while avoiding being seen is even more dangerous. These two Colorado teenagers are challenged by blizzards and wolves, in addition to the notorious Badger Gang. They have to think like army scouts as well as think like outlaws — and do it at the same time. That's what they do during their school's harvest vacation.

The Bigfoot Gang

Hunting down bank robbers isn't nearly as dangerous as what might be hunting you! When the Overland Stage that Audrey and Brad's father is accompanying to the bank in Denver is robbed, the young sleuths set out to track down the thieves themselves. Using logic and native scouting techniques, can two Colorado teenagers solve what the sheriff hasn't? Between school, a major election, jailbreaks, and chores, they work with their native friend, Running Bear, to outsmart the stage robbers with their own tricks while adding a few of their own. Only one thing really scares these bandits, and that's the real Bigfoot. Tribal lore says that he's real... But are any of them willing to take that chance?

A painting of two men in hats and one is walking through an underground tunnel.
A man jumping over a wall with his hands on the side of it.

Fiery Blizzard

A fire can be nice on a cold day. A house fire is never good. A suspicious house fire really intrigues our two young detectives. Finding out who sets house fires during blizzards is a new challenge facing Brad and Audrey. While helping with a house raising, a funeral, and a Christmas pageant, these two Colorado teenagers work to stop the arsonist. Who is the arsonist? Why is he setting the fires?

Healer Gang

Burglaries are rare. Being tied up and robbed is even rarer in Riverton. The rash of burglaries in Riverton really intrigues our two young detectives. Then, posters announcing the coming of a Healer who cures afflictions appear on trees and in stores. Is this a coincidence?

The two teenagers start planning how to capture the burglars. The Healer’s secret about curing people is exposed. And, just to keep things interesting, Audrey helps deliver a baby.

A group of people riding horses in the desert.
A group of people standing around a horse.

Denver Music

Music seminars for church pianists are a learning experience. It can be a unique learning experience when the seminar is in Denver. In the 1880s, traveling by stagecoach was an excellent way to get to Denver.

As one would expect, no good deed goes unpunished when Brad and Audrey become Good Samaritans and treat the wounded during a bank robbery.

Brad is briefly entranced by a young Chinese girl, but he’s fortunate Audrey is with him.
Audrey gets kidnapped, but fear not, dear reader. She’s fortunate that Brad and a couple of Pinkertons get involved.

What with Audrey’s petticoats and a wild animal, this story becomes a real stinker.
