The Journey and Accomplishments
About the Author
Born and raised in the West, Smith grew up where many farmers still used horses to plow their fields. Steam engines were the norm for railroads, and a diesel locomotive was quite an event. He’s now caught up with modern civilization.
After serving in the US Air Force, he later worked as a teacher, professional musician, and federal employee. He has now settled down and lives in South Carolina.
“Claim to Fame”
Ether played semi-professional bassoon earlier in life. This includes a TV orchestra and one performance with a major symphony orchestra.
He’s taught bassoon students for decades, which includes teaching them to make their own bassoon reeds. Thus, the bassoon is a symbol of his pre-authoring life.
In addition to his historical fiction novels, he recently completed a book titled HOW TO WRCK OR SAVE A CHURCH. This book is an assortment of about 50 real-life church vignettes. No denominations are used, and names have been changed to protect the guilty as well as the innocent. The book should come out sometime in the fall of 2023.
